The Project

Flagship Wines is an independent wine merchant located in St. Albans, Hertfordshire. It stocks over 600 carefully selected wines from countries all over the world. The owner wanted to move the business forward and needed a smart ecommerce website that would provide customers with a great and helpful shopping experience, while informing them about the latest events, news, and promotions.

Our Approach

After a consulting period, we agreed that WooCommerce ecommerce platform, which is an extension of WordPress, will be a great fit for Flagship Wines’ business needs. It combines online selling and content management capabilities to help the business grow its online exposure and reach new and existing customers, providing them with a new convenient way to buy their favourite wines.

Consultancy

A consulting period was truly beneficial for the business owners, allowing them to identify areas of online improvement that would lead to overall business growth.

Responsive

The new website is a responsive design, enabling mobile users to browse the wine selection online and access all the information just the same as they could at a regular bricks-and-mortar shop.

WooCommerce

With this ecommerce extension of WordPress, we’ve implemented prominent and clean looking product placement, smart filtering by country, grape, and year as well as product information broken down into easy-to-digest sections.

SEO

WooCommerce benefits from the same great built-in SEO as WordPress. To get the website ranking high in Google, we’ve optimised all the landing and product pages using a complete set of on-page and off-page search engine optimisation techniques.

Increase In Conversion

Powerful ecommerce features, mobile-friendly design, SEO-optimised content, and relevant information about the wines, the food they go with, and different events to try them at are aimed at getting more visitors to the website and converting them into happy informed customers.

Marketing

We’ve implemented an automated email marketing solution, where customers get a follow-up email asking them if they’ve enjoyed the wine they purchased and offering them the option to buy more. As a content marketing tactic, we’ve introduced an image-rich recipes section on the website accompanied by wine suggestions.
